The dump cart was deaccessed on this date
to the Elliot (ME) Antique Tractor & Engine Association.

         Steve Beckert, President
         Peter Rousseau, Vice President
         Lisa Raitt, Secretary-Treasurer

Steve Beckert and Tom Raitt arrived driving a truck and
trailer borrowed from Peter Rousseau of Rousseau Farm,
the last working farm within the city limits of Dover, N.H.
         (Belted Galloways).

The Raitt Farm on thirty-two acres is home to the
Elliot Antique Tractor & Engine Association.
Tom Raitt is the son of one of the founders of their association.
A dialog between the Limington Historical Society and the group
from Elliot brought about a loan of the dump cart to their facility.
Their interest was high and they have plenty of inside space
                to display this fine cart.

The Limington Historical Society gains many square feet in the barn in which
to better present the items we have in our collection. This decision was a
vote taken of the members present at the barn on April 8, 2006. Those present were:

     Paul Baresel, President
     Felicia Baresel, Treasurer
     Anne Dunbar, Secretary
     Phil Dearborn, Director

In Addition:

Paul Baresel and his father, Bob, hung sheetrock on the bathroom
         wall at the barn.

Many thanks to all.

Special thanks to Mike Davis of Limington who
used his tractor to move the engine and ox sling
from the barn to the blacksmith shop.
Jeff Douglass of Baldwin, Phil Dearborn and
Paul Baresel were on hand to help.
This opened up quite a space in the barn.

Our Flagpole

        A Victim of Time:

The flagpole came crashing down sometime this winter.

Frank & Marion Foss made the discovery and rescued the flag.

The historical society now has a Flagpole Committee that will produce a replacement.

                 Designer - Frank Foss

                 Supplier - Paul Baresel

                 Site Preparation - Jeff Douglass

                 Installer - Jim Hoag

We will be having a work day at the barn, Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.
The plan is to move the engine (big) into the blacksmith shop.
Mike Davis will be providing the tractor for this little operation.

Model T Fall Tour

October 15, 2005, Sat

We regret the untimely passing of a Lifetime member:

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Blake family.

They have been one of our greatest benefactors.

"October, 2004, members of a Model T Club began a road tour through

Limington, Limerick and Cornish from the historical society barn. The

highlight of the day was a stop at Coburn Benson's in Limerick. These

pictures illustrate some items in his private collection. It is an event

they hope to do again."

The historical society now has "The History of Limington" by Robert Taylor available.

The cost is $20.00 plus postage if mailing.

FMI call 207-637-2872 or 207-637-2970.

     December 14, 2004:

Society members Paul Baresel, Marie Brume and Anne Dunbar went before the Limington Financial Advisory Board to request funding for assistance and materials to archive documents that belong to the historical society.  Whether the request will appear as a Warrant at Town Meeting will be determined at the next meeting of the Financial Advisory Board January 15, 20.    If approved, the funds would be used together with money obtained through  an archival grant from the Maine State Archives. We will make application for a grant in any case.
